The breakfast is satisfactory and the staff is loyal. The bed was comfortable, we enjoyed it and slept well.
The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and the rooms although small are very modern, clean and well designed. The hotel staff were very pleasent and helpful. There was a varity offered for breakfast, the full english was very nice.
We did not eat dinner in the hotel as it was very expensive. There is a pub near the end of the drive called The Harrow where we ate. The food came in very large portions and was resonable in price. The pub staff were very friendly.
Location was important to us on this trip and the Parkland setting was wonderful.
The location of the Spa...a short walk was not a problem but having to leave the building to walk but a short distant in bad weather would be a great disappointment.
We stayed at the hotel for a weekend. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was excellent, clean, tidy and very well equipped. Food was delicious. We would definately stay again. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed at.Would recommend to family and friends and anyone else.Would like to say thank you for a lovely weekend very relaxing.
My wife and I stayed in older main building, loved the quiet relaxed atmosphere. Stayed as wedding guests but will happily return again for a short break. Considering the facilities available we also thought it was good value.
There was nothing we disliked but be warned; the maze of corridors and stairs in the old house could be a bit of a challenge for the less able. We would recommend staying in the new extension if you have difficulty getting about. One other thing, this did not bother us, but as you would expect in a beautiful old house like this the windows rattle in high winds, if you’re a nit picking light sleeper you may not like this, again just stay in the new section.
the place was amazing with amazing veiws and i have never stayed in a place where the staff are this accomoding. They were absolutely WONDERFUL. I was soooooo pleased with my stay
loved every bit of it!!!!
I liked the room, which was clean and comfortable and had all the requirements needed. Still and sparkling water was a nice touch.Toiletries were replenished and bed was lovely.
The colour of the carpets was hideous. restaurant could have been better designed.
The room was fantastic! Loved everything about it the mini fridge, bathrobes, huge bed, amazing! All of the staff were exteremly nice and professional.
The spa needs a jacuzzi!!
Wow did not expect hotel to look like that. The hotel is attached to a period house and is so stunning and chic inside a definite must do hotel. Perfect location.
The staff were courteous, and the room was immaculate.
Nothing at all.
Great walks in grounds. Large pool. Nice rooms.
No jacuzzi - poor for a spa.
The main house and surroundings were lovely. The breakfast was excellent and the staff polite and helpful without hovering all the time.
The hanging space in our room was inadequate for long dresses and an easy chair would have been nice
Grand rooms in the main building, friendly staff, excellent spa area, fantastic views, excellent food the 1 st night. We stayed in one of the 17 rooms in the main house overlooking the main fairway rather than the smaller rooms in the wings. I think it was worth paying a little extr for this. Having said that the standard rooms looked good value for money if your on a budget as the facilities are good.
dining service slipped on the 2 nd night, steak was overcooked, should have sent it back as my partner did as I ended up not enjoying the meal and watching her eat her main course which arrived 40 minutes later, should have only been a few minutes for a medium steak. Seemed to be due to the room being fairly busy.
We booked this hotel for a weekend break and were a little dubious after reading some of the reviews. Our room was in the main hotel and from the minute we walked in the hotel was beautiful. The view from our bedroom window was breathtaking and the room had the wow factor. Fortunately the weather was kind to us and we spent the day walking in the grounds. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we thought the food was excellent. We would definately have a return visit to Heythrop.
The dinner menu was the same on Friday and Saturday night which is okay for only 2 nights. Not sure how often they change it but would be disappointed if on a return visit it was the same again.
Rooms still have conventional radiator based heating. Air locked in the heating system was constantly causing knocking of pipes on an otherwise quiet surroundings.
